Durrington swimming and fitness centre is looking to recruit a qualified Class Instructor, specifically to cover Aqua Fit. We are looking for dynamic individuals to deliver structured group fitness sessions which are designed to meet the needs of our customers.

About the role

About you

Do you have the right qualifications, excellent communication skills along with experience of customer care within a leisure environment? If so, we would like to hear from you.

You should possess a valid qualification in specialist activity recognised by the governing professional body or specific group fitness class qualifications such as Aqua fit others that would be beneficial are Zumba, Circuits, Pilates and Yoga.

Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness at short notice will be required. Depending upon the individual there may be further opportunities to coach other group fitness exercise classes and progress further with on-going continued personal development.

Job description:
We are looking to recruit a two Lifeguards to join our friendly and sociable team at Marlborough leisure centre working 27 hours per week.

About the role

Our Lifeguards proactively safeguard the activities taking part in and around our swimming areas whilst enabling and delivering the safe and effective operations of the leisure centre.

You will also be expected to lifeguard pool sessions, ensure the setting up and taking down of equipment is carried out, plus general cleaning tasks and maintenance/building checks.

About you

Along with a valid national pool lifeguard qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent, you should have experience in delivering first aid to casualties and assist in managing incidents, and have general knowledge of leisure centre operations and activities. Those who do not hold an NPLQ or equivalent qualification may be considered for this post, however, the qualification must be attained within 3 months of starting.

You will need to have an awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and be customer focused with excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic approach and give a positive and professional image at all times.

All Lifeguards must attend staff training programmes as required which may fall outside of the working shift pattern. This includes NPLQ as well as additional training sessions, in-line with the job role.

About the role

We are looking for self-employed, fully qualified Personal Trainers to operate their business out of our facility. We offer flexible initial rental arrangements and the ability to offer personal training at other Wiltshire Council leisure facilities at no extra cost. You will be able to recruit additional clients from our members as well as bring in your existing clients at no additional cost.

To be an external Personal Trainer at Wiltshire Council you will have:

• A passion for health and fitness and a real people person
• Outstanding customer service and professionalism
• The ability to work in partnership with other teams where necessary

Candidates must have the following qualifications/Experience:

• Level 3 PT qualification recognised by REP’s or CIMPSPA
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Previous Personal Training experience
• Public Liability Insurance

Opportunity for class instruction:

• Personal Trainers with group exercise class qualifications may have the possibility to cover and gain regular classes on our fitness timetable.
