Job description:
As a Lifeguard you will have fantastic customer service and a passion for swimming and staying active. As well as supervising our members in the pool and poolside, you will support the operations team in keeping our centres clean and tidy, setting up for activity sessions and undertaking maintenance/building checks.

You will work a varying rotated pattern of shifts, which will require some evening and weekend work.

If you are interested in a career in leisure, we have fantastic training programmes that can lead to management positions, focusing on employee development.

Hourly rate range for this role is £9.99 - £10.39 per hour.

Do you have:

- A UK recognised pool lifeguard qualification?*

- Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation?

- A high standard of physical fitness?

- An awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults?

To be considered for a Lifeguard position, you will need to be a strong swimmer, and have excellent customer service and verbal communication skills and be customer focussed with an enthusiastic approach, giving a positive and professional image at all times.

All employees will need to attend staff training programmes as required which may fall outside of the working shift pattern. This includes NPLQ as well as additional training sessions.

*Those who do not hold an NPLQ or equivalent qualification may be considered for this post. Wiltshire Council run courses through RLSS and you will have the opportunity to obtain your qualification within 3 months of starting.

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic individual to join us as a Duty Manager at Castle Place Leisure Centre working full time hours (37 hours per week).

About the role:

As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational and staff issues in the day-to-day running of the centre.

You will be undertaking a variety of roles as required to meet operational needs, acting as the primary point for solving customer and staff issues, acting as the key holder for opening and closing the centre and taking responsibility for ensuring the centre remains a safe, smart and fully functioning during opening hours.

About you:

You will need to be innovative, energetic, an effective leader and have the ability to deal with complex customer and facilities issues.

Supervision of staff and 12 months experience in a customer-facing role is essential.

Interview date will be confirmed upon shortlisting.

Where possible interviews are virtual, but due to the nature of this role interviews will be in person. Current public health advice is followed for candidate and employee safety.

About the role

As a Swimming Assistant, you will assist the lead coach in being responsible for the participants throughout the duration of the class, ensuring that appropriate screening of attendees is carried out and they are safe to participate, as well as maintaining records of attendance.

You will liaise with the lead coach in order to develop the opportunities to increase participation, along with assisting in providing innovative and engaging sessions to participants, ensuring safety at all times within a fun environment.

About you

We will look to you to use your motivational skills to encourage customers to maintain attendance and deliver consistently high standards of instruction to all customers so that everyone fulfils their potential.

You will need to hold a level one swimming qualification (or working towards) and have proof of continuous professional development.

You will also need to have insurance through the national governing body, and have a good knowledge and understanding of general health and safety policies.
