Leisure World Colchester has entered the next exciting phase in the development of its sport and leisure facilities. This includes the construction of a new multi-million pound facility in the north of Colchester to complement the on-going investments in the existing regionally renowned leisure facilities which attract over 1 million visits a year.

We are seeking a Duty Manager who will be a highly motivated individual to join our team at the new Colchester Northern Gateway Sports Park which opens Early 2021 by Colchester Borough Council.

The Duty Manager with Outdoor Sports and Events responsibility will ideally have a specialist Road Cycling Knowledge and or Pump and Balance bike qualifications.

The Duty Manager will play a key role in the development and operational readiness for this exciting £28 million Sports Park which will provide; Health and Fitness, Indoor Cricket, Sports Hall, Café, 1 Mile Closed Road Cycle Circuit, 9 Outdoor Pitches including two 4G pitches.

Once open you will lead a team on the day to day delivery of the service. The post holder will also play a key role in delivering the coaching and events programmes with key partners including; British Cycling and Essex County Cricket Club.

The successful candidate would ideally have similar experience within the public or private sector, providing high quality customer focused leisure and sports services. Experience in effective facility development and quality management frameworks such as QUEST would be an advantage.

You will have strong operational skills and a demonstrable track record of delivering quality services, an excellent understanding of sport and community development based on the CBC goals - Customer, Business and Culture.

Working 37 hours per week, some weekend and evening working will be required.
