Something very exciting is underway in Goshen, New York. Due to open July 4, 2020, LEGOLAND Park in Goshen, New York is Merlin’s biggest single investment to date and you could play a crucial part in this amazing project!

We’re now looking for a unique person who has a passion for Retail and all that it includes, who will lead the way in Delivering the Magic as we bring the world’s ninth LEGOLAND Park to life brick by brick. You will support bringing the project from construction to a bricktastic place filled with smiles.

About the Role
The Retail Assistant Manager role is responsible for the successful overall operation of specifically assigned retail locations, including, but not limited to: providing and training staff to offer excellent guest service, meeting sales and labor budgets, managing performance of assigned staff, creating effective schedules, controlling inventory, maintaining proper stock levels and visual appeal of assigned locations, participating in special projects and/or assignments, and all specific duties associated with managing assigned locations.

Key Objectives
• Establish and maintain retail environment in assigned locations that promotes the delivery of excellent guest service, while driving strong commercial performance.
• Manage profitable assigned store locations, ensuring appropriate labor scheduling and costs, reducing inventory losses, maintaining proper product levels and money handling controls.
• Develop assigned team members through team building, praise, coaching, training and discipline, according to company and department standards.
• Collaborate with Retail Leadership Team and Park Leadership Team to establish a cohesive and consistent operational standard.
• Serves as an active member of the retail management team.

About You
• Position requires a minimum of three years progressive experience in Retail Store Management or equivalent education, and experience within a theme park or speciality retail environment is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of cash-handling point of sale automated systems and inventory/sales auditing is required.
• The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a collaborative team atmosphere. The job holder will be able to work successfully in both an autonomous role and with others.
• The job holder must be able to lead and instruct staff in visual merchandising, and must possess strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work activities, coping with multiple complex tasks and within specific timelines. This position requires a commitment to excellence in guest service, merchandising and sales.
• Strong guest service, interpersonal and supervisory skills are required. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to support park operations.
