Essential to achieving this is the work we do in promoting sports and fitness across the borough and we are currently looking for a Senior Sports Development Officer.

About the Role

You will work closely with our key partners including Places Leisure Eastleigh, as well as Hamble Sports College, to client manage their performance. You will ensure community programmes, new initiatives and participation are maximised to achieve our strategic aims of tackling inactivity and promoting health lifestyles. Working with a small team of sport and community officers, you will develop and ensure the delivery of community participation programmes, as well as providing support to sport clubs and community groups to promote and increase participation.

You will be required to develop reports and presentations for the management team and members, collaborate on funding bids and utilise insight and analyse data to ensure we plan and deliver high-quality programming. You will also be required to chair various community groups and work in partnership with key external agencies to achieve our objectives.

About You

You will be qualified to degree level with significant experience in a sport and community environment. You will also have experience of delivering physical activity projects, contract management, facility development, sourcing funding and managing budgets.

You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have experience of dealing with various internal and external partners, professionals and members of the public. You will also be required to demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high.
