We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible individual who is passionate about service development, sports, activities and events.

A very exciting new job role has become available within our Leisure and Community Development Division. The post holder will develop and deliver commercial approaches to improve the performance of sports, leisure activities and promotional events to enhance the services across our leisure facilities.

Based at the Council House, but with a strong active presence on our leisure sites, you will take responsibility for developing new and improving existing sports, activities and events provision. Leading on projects, you will improve space utilisation and participation within our facilities to optimise financial performance.

The role requires a highly motivated, creative person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Working with Centre teams to enhance our sports lessons and courses, holiday activities and ensuring improved customer feedback systems are other key areas of responsibility, as is the development of the Party offering.

The Sports, Activities and Events Officer will require excellent communication skills, be able to pro-actively network, and maintain relationships with key partners. Also able to work collaboratively with facility management and the Community Development team whilst interacting at all levels of the organisation. A good working knowledge of the leisure industry, the sports and activities environments would be an advantage.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
