Department: Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust
Reporting to: Health and Wellbeing Project Manager (Shape Up)
Hours: Part Time 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)
Salary: £24,500 (pro-rata)
Location: Vicarage Road Stadium
Contract Type: Fixed Term 12 months (Possible extension)

Summary of your role:
Are you a passionate team player who wants to make a positive difference to the physical health of obese adults in Harrow?

You will lead an initial one-year Harrow Public Health funded weight management service, supporting obese adults across the borough via a mixture of face to face and digital support services.

The service will support adults referred in from primary care and the community to lose weight and increase their physical activity levels over a 12-week period.

Your key responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Effectively manage all day-to-day activities of the service.
• Providing high quality ongoing support to obese adults across Harrow.
• Managing project stakeholders, referrals, and reporting lines.
• Development of programme resources, building innovative content to make the biggest impact possible on participants.
• Working with adults with obesity and lifestyle related health issues to make a positive difference to their health.
• Monitoring, evaluating and continuous improvement of service standards

You will have (Essential):
• Current Emergency Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
• Level 3 Personal trainer qualification
• Level 3 Exercise referral certificate
• A sound knowledge of healthy eating, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles.
• Experience of delivering behaviour change interventions for adults.
• Experience of promoting health or physical activity programmes
• An ability to engage, motivate, inspire, and mentor people towards achieving their goals
• Experience and success in building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of partners.
• Experience of managing and overseeing matters of safeguarding including identification and reporting of vulnerable adult concerns
• A person-centred approach with the ability to build a rapport with people quickly
• A passion to make a difference to people with complex needs and be a positive role model.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with a background in providing great customer care.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude, always looking for solutions to problems or issues.
• A flexible approach to work. You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.

Ideally Have (desirable):
• A degree or relevant qualification (in a related subject area)
• Mental Health First Aid Certificate
• Proven experience of project/event management and experience of report writing.
• Sensitive to the needs and issues of people trying to make behaviour changes.
• Demonstrable ability to work within recognised procedures which leave some room for initiative, including lone working
