We are now seeking a dynamic, driven, personable and ultimately passionate Chief Executive to lead us into a new generation. With the support of our specialist board of trustees we have now set out a vision for the next five years for the Trust. We want our centres and offerings to become community hubs for health, wellbeing, socialising and driving positive change for lives of people in Havant and Waterlooville. We need someone with the unrelenting drive, passion, and enthusiasm to help deliver this vision.

The CEO will be the face of the charity, forming and maintaining meaningful relationships with stakeholders and leading by example in setting and instilling the organisation's culture.

The CEO is responsible for:

• Leading in the execution and development of Horizon’s strategic 5-year plan
• Monitoring and ensuring the direction of Horizon’s strategic plan, capital investment and expenditure
• Ensuring the charitable status of the organisation and compliance with governance and legal obligations
• Working hand-in-glove with Senior Leadership Team on day-to-day operational matters, as well as collaboratively delivering the strategic plan
• The identification and management of risks, issues and opportunities for the charity
• Leading in the maximisation of Horizon’s reach and impact in the local community
• Developing, maintaining and nurturing relations with some of the organisation’s key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Being the public face of Horizon
• Taking responsibility for the financial leadership of the organisation and leading in the implementation of financial plans
• Overseeing and reviewing the development and practical application of policies and procedures such as health and safety, equality and diversity, and safeguarding etc
• Sustaining positive culture in the organisation through good communication and effective policies and values
• Ensuring correct management of the buildings, plant and facilities in conjunction with policies

What skills and experience do you need?

We need a leader – someone who:
• Is naturally driven, passionate and customer centric
• Has managed a large, diverse team
• Knows when and how to push business transformation needs
• Inspires others and is passionate about personal development

It would be great if you had working experience in:

• Project management
• Business planning, and development
• Overseeing financial planning, management, and implementation
• Working closely with marketing and communications departments
• Capital expenditure projects
• Community focussed initiatives
• Working in an environment where customer satisfaction and retention is a primary goal
• New process development and implementation across multiple business units
• An environment which is governed or regulated by a third party (not essential)
