£80m facility development

UK Athletics, in partnership with Sport England and AAA of England, is overseeing a development plan set to deliver about £80m of new facilities by the end of 2004; the National Lottery Sports Fund is expected to contribute up to £50m. Current projects at various stages of development, include an indoor Regional Performance Centre at the Gateshead International Stadium and a six lane outdoor track at Ellesmere Port.
