ACW announces Power of the Flame launch
Arts Council of Wales (ACW) has announced the launch of the Power of the Flame legacy project, which will comprise five major projects to mark the London 2012 Games.
Legacy Trust UK is funding the Power of the Flame initiative, which is set to see a range of cultural activities and events take place across the country.
Among the schemes to receive funding will be Cauldrons and Furnaces, which aims to bring history to life at eight heritage attractions operated by Cadw.
A new exhibition called Following the Flame will explore the history of Welsh athletes at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, alongside a specially-commissioned film.
Mzansi Cymru; Whose flame is it anyway?; and Kindling Talent are the three other schemes to take place under the Power of the Flame banner.
ACW chair Dai Smith said: "The aim of this ambitious programme of events and activities is to inspire and engage with the children and young people of Wales to deliver a lasting legacy of creativity."
