Active Living team scores highly with Quest
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Active Living Team recently scored 82 per cent in a Quest assessment.
The Active Living Team is responsible for helping people become more physically active within their local community, running activity sessions ranging from post-natal exercise to health walks, tai chi and pilates sessions. It also deals with GP referrals and can give general advice about the benefits of exercise and becoming physically active.
Carol Southern, Active Living Team principal manager for Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, said: "We were delighted to achieve an outstanding score of 82 per cent.
“This was an amazing achievement and I am so proud of all of the team for their efforts. This score reflects the high quality service our programmes provide.
“It is also a reflection of the partnership working that takes place both within the trust and with outside agencies.
“This is a key focus of our work and without this approach we wouldn't be able to provide such a high quality service, or have achieved this score."
Martin Eden, the trust's executive director for sport and healthy living, added: "Achieving Quest status is very important to the development of the service.
“It is a benchmark for excellence and having such status can help unlock the door to many new opportunities.
“The higher the profile of the service, the greater the benefit for local people. “I am particularly pleased with the impact the Active Living Team's service has on the lives of local people; the feedback the team get is always outstanding." Details: www.wlct.org/activeliving
