App launched to increase disability sports participation
The Leisure Database Company, Splashpath and DisabledGo have teamed up to create a service allowing customers to search for disability sports facilities while 'on the move'.
The new scheme aims to deliver more powerful consumer information through Splashpath, the newly launched iPhone app, about where, when and how to take part in sport combined with full disability access information on sites.
DisabledGo provides online access information to public venues across the UK and Ireland and has produced information for over 80,000 venues. DisabledGo works with local authorities, universities and colleges, NHS trusts and leisure trusts.
The free-to-use Splashpath promotes swimming through the publishing of timetables at swimming pools and already has more than 8,000 registered users.
