BMF offers NVQs to instructors
British Military Fitness (BMF) is upskilling its instructors by offering NVQs Level 1 and 2 in Sports and Recreation. BMF has teamed up with The Training Agency to offer the qualifi cations to current instructors, as well as ex-armed forces personnel who want to join them.
The Level 1 NVQ is a three-day course consisting of both of theory and practical elements, while Level 2 takes place over two three-day courses and builds on the Level 1 qualifi cation.
Kevin Lomas, operations manager at BMF, says: “We were receiving a number of enquiries from ex-army personnel who had plenty of experience and wanted to work for BMF, but didn’t have the relevant NVQ qualifi cations. We decided to work with The Training Agency to tailor these NVQs specifi cally for BMF instructors, giving everyone the opportunity to gain additional qualifi cations while working for us.
"Working for BMF is a superb vocational opportunity for those who are leaving the forces and looking for an alternative source of income.”
The Level 2 NVQ is also available to ex-armed forces individuals who are involved in resettlement, with the cost covered by the resettlement package.
