Bruce Lee’s home to become a museum
A competition to make the former home of Bruce Lee into a museum has been launched in Hong Kong.
According to the Associated Press, Hong Kong officials wish to turn the property – which is currently a love hotel renting rooms by the hour – into a museum celebrating the martial arts movie icon.
The octogenarian owner, Yu Pang-lin, said at a press conference marking the 36th anniversary of Lee’s death that he wanted the museum to include a memorial hall, a library, a kung fu studio and a film archive, and that he hoped to see the museum open in his lifetime.
The Hong Kong government said that a panel of architects and town planners, headed by Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee, would judge the competition and that the winners would be announced later this year.
