Cannons Foundation appointment
Cannons health clubs is reinforcing the importance of its Cannons Foundation fundraising wing by appointing a new executive to head up the organisation. Lareena Brown will strengthen the Cannons Foundation with her background in the fundraising sector as regional events manager with Macmillan Cancer Relief. The Cannons Foundation was established last year as a catalyst for raising money, resources and awareness for a different charity selected each year. This year the Cannons Foundation has teamed up with Mind, the mental health charity, to raise money through the positive links between mental health and exercise. Cannons' group brand manager, Karen Lewis, welcomes Brown's experience in the charity sector: For the last three years at Macmillan Cancer Relief, Lareena has been responsible for not only the marketing function, but also the charity's regional planning, communication strategies and youth and school development plans. She will bring a wealth of experience to the Cannons Foundation as we enjoy a period of expansion and development within the group as a whole. Brown is enthusiastic about joining Cannons due to her passion for fitness and the community alongside her fundraising interests: I am thrilled to be joining Cannons and look forward to working alongside a lively and thriving team and making a real difference to people's lives through such important charity work.
