Cork leisure centre unveils 1.6m euro gym revamp
LeisureWorld in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland, has unveiled its new 1.6m euro (£1.29m) upgrade.
The development features a gymnasium with a dedicated spinning room, an aerobics room, a wellness room and a kids’ fitness and fun room – in addition to the existing swimming pool, outdoor pitches and café.
The gym has more than 50 pieces of cardio equipment, Technogym strength equipment, a free weights area and a stretching, core and abs area.
Christine Moloney, chief executive of LeisureWorld – which has another site in Churchfield, Cork – said: “In today’s world, people are just so busy with life’s challenges that many don’t feel they have free leisure time anymore.
“It’s therefore up to leisure providers to make the solutions to make our services both accessible and affordable. It’s not good enough anymore to just provide a pool and a treadmill. People want results and value for money.”
The development was designed by JODA Engineering and built by John F. Supples.
