Crossover health farm and fitness club hits Prestwick
One of Scotland's leading construction companies, Barr, has branched into the health and fitness sector with the launch of its new concept club, Aurigin. Located in Prestwick, Ayrshire, Aurigin is a crossover between a health and fitness club and a health farm with facilities that focus on relaxation as much as getting fit. Facilities include a state-of-the-art gym, sports and beauty therapy rooms, Scotland's largest sauna and steam rooms, a cr'che, aerobics dance studio and a vitality pool that massages bathers with its waterfall effects. Barr's leisure manager, Kirsty Hockley, says the £1.2m facility covers all posts in having something for everyone: I am very proud and excited to be involved in this huge project. It is very hard to find clubs to suit everyone's needs but Aurigin will be totally unique as its relaxation facilities will be just as important as the gym. Aurigins opens this spring and Barr is planning to roll out the concept if it proves successful.
