Deep Sea Leisure gets back on dry land
The aquarium design and construction company Deep Sea Leisure has announced a positive outcome to the financial year after a particularly turbulent first three quarters.
The company has begun to implement a financial reconstruction plan after the company encountered problems with its bankers, and had difficulty meeting repayment obligations.
Company chair Alastair Richie suggested that figures, which showed a loss in turnover - down to £5.1m from £5.5m last year, and operating profit down to only £0.1m from £1.5m should be taken in context: The results for the year require to be interpreted carefully in order to appreciate our trading performance. Richie described the last year as an extraordinary period and said: We have now put the problems of last year behind us and we can focus once more on developing the business.
