Exmoor promotes outdoor sector

Exmoor National Park Authority is set to develop the county’s outdoor activity industry in a bid to attract more visitors to the area.

Active Exmoor will launch a new website this spring to provide free publicity for and information on the region’s outdoor activity industry.

Secured projects to date include the UK Ironman 70.3 triathlon in June, which attracts 1,500 international athletes, and the Tour of Britain cycle race in September, which is expected to attract more than 3,000 spectators.

In addition, Exmoor National Park’s planning committee has objected to the proposed wind farm at Batsworthy Cross, just outside the park’s boundaries. Details: www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk
