FIA to launch dh-backed campaign for members
FIA members have met with the Department of Health (DH) to discuss the high-profile Know Your Limits campaign and partnership opportunities for the health and fitness sector.
The first part of the campaign included the Know Your Limits TV adverts, which caught the attention of the nation earlier this year.
The second phase, which rolls out in November, is offering partners within the fitness industry the chance to take part in a focused information campaign. Free promotion materials will be available, including diaries, T-shirts, posters and leaflets.
The DH has also given permission for participants to embed the ‘drinks calculator’ on their websites.
The option for participating clubs to promote their involvement to local communities, with joint NHS branding, represents a significant opportunity – a chance to reach out to local GPs and build partnerships with local medical communities.
The campaign was very positively received at the meeting, with the DH taking on board the feedback provided by FIA members.
Shelley Owen, Central YMCA club marketing manager, says: “This is a no-brainer as far as we are concerned. Free material, linking up with the DH: we’re keen.”
