Whether an individual is seeking a social community of like-minded peers, or a national brand is in the process of hiring qualified and passionate trainers, Fibr is the solution
– Neal Spruce, CEO of Dotfit

Fibr, a new social platform connecting fitness professionals with each other and potential employers has launched.

Created by a team spearheaded by Neal Spruce – formerly of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and CEO of Dotfit – it's designed to help school leavers and fitness instructors find the right educational resources and long-term work in the fitness industry.

Comprising a website and app, the system is powered by algorithms that match individuals with hiring companies in the fitness industry. Reducing staff turnover, establishing careers for trainers and creating stability for gym owners are among Fibr’s key goals.

“This marks the start of a new era in the fitness industry, for individuals and companies alike,” said Spruce. "We're bringing a database of professionals, enthusiasts and employers together in one shared space to offer unparalleled connections, opportunities and offerings to industry powerhouses and newcomers. Whether an individual is seeking a social community of like-minded peers, or a national brand is in the process of hiring qualified and passionate trainers, Fibr is the solution.”

Current gym partners include Crunch Fitness, EOS Fitness, MUV Fitness, UFC Gym, Texas Family Fit, Cowboys Fit, 49ers Fit, Browns Fit, Texans Fit, Chiefs Fit and Bears Fit.

While Fibr is initially launching in the US and Canada, the intention is to grow the platform across the world. “We plan to expand internationally to accommodate our partners that have an international presence,” said Spruce. “Regarding our product and development, we have a robust roadmap in pace, with features that will revolutionise the way the fitness community engages.”

As well as linking trainers with jobs, it also offers routes to education – certification is through official providers such as NASM – and discounts. Gear and education tie-ups include ISSA, TRX, Therabody, Dot Fit, My Steady Mind, Barbell Rehab, Escape Fitness, Incrediwear, Eggweights, The Lift Box, Inertia Wave, Beaverfit and YBell.

Although users can’t currently share workouts on Fibr or on social channels such as Instagram or Facebook, this is a forthcoming development that will be released onto the system.

“Fibr will soon have a new tool for users to build, share workouts and much more,” said Spruce. “The integration to link Fibr with outside social media platforms is on the development roadmap to ensure maximum exposure for all users.”

According to Spruce, the user base for Fibr is on track to reach a thousand users by the beginning of August. Users can sign up for free and employer partnership costs are based around their size and individual needs.
