Frankfurt Radisson SAS topped out
The topping-out ceremony for the new Radisson SAS Hotel Frankfurt – designed as a 96-metre giant blue disc – has been held in Germany.
The striking look of the property, which is due to open in November, has been created by London-based architect John Seifert, New Yorker Adam D, Tihany and Italian Matteo Thun.
Tihany has designed all the public areas while Thun has created the look for the guestrooms and wellness area.
Inside the 440-room business hotel, the lobby will be dominated by a three-storey floating glass tower holding 1,500 bottles of wine.
The property will be directly linked to the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre and will feature a wellness and fitness centre on the top floor boasting a swimming pool with panoramic views, a sauna, steamroom, fitness area and a bar.
As well as 2,200sq m (23,600sq ft) of conference space with seating for 600 people in the main banqueting area there will also be a choice of two restaurants, a lobby bar and a library.
