Funding boosts for Tone Leisure
Tone Leisure, the new leisure trust in Taunton Deane, Somerset, has attracted external funding of more than £570,000 in the past 18 months.
Since transferring as a leisure trust from Leisure DSO, Tone Leisure has secured funding for a range of community projects, crime and disorder reduction programmes, individual needs inclusion projects and health development work alongside facility improvement, expansion and developments.
The company has attracted external funding for a tennis centre expansion, a young persons’ fitness centre, a lifestyle referral programme, youth diversionary activity programmes, falls prevention and walking projects and inclusion worker programme for children with individual needs.
Working in partnership with a range of organisation’s has enabled this great success and funding has been attracted from Sport England, The Lawn Tennis Association, local councils, the local primary care trust, the Countryside Agency, the Crime and Reduction Partnership, Children in Need, Barnardo’s, Sports Partnership and NHS Trust.
Joel Chapman, commercial director for Tone Leisure, said: “Our focus is to enable more of the community to become more active, more often, and growing participation in many of the “hard-to-reach” groups is very challenging.
