Golden Tulip launches training academy
Golden Tulip UK, the hotel and development company, has launched a training academy in an attempt to cut customer complaints and reduce staff turnover.
Moving away from the lecture approach, the academy will re-create workplace scenarios, which are expected to result in employees learning quickly and retaining new work habits.
Developed in conjunction with TAS Training Associates, which specialises in the hotel and leisure sector, the programmes will use TAS's total immersion learning technique. Golden Tulip's operations director, Brian Scurrah, is confident the technique will succeed where traditional training has failed: 'This industry spends a huge amount of money annually on training staff. Despite this, customer complaints and high staff turnover continue to be a major problem. Total immersion learning offers a genuinely different approach which encourages employees to become highly motivated and self-correcting.'
Staff at the Golden Tulip in Manchester, the new Tulip Inn in Glasgow and UK directors are already taking part in the scheme, which will be implemented in hotels joining the brand. Details: +44 (0)1765 640736
