Health trainer scheme launched in Lincolnshire
A new scheme to encourage gradual health and lifestyle improvements in Lincolnshire has been launched.
Twenty-six qualified specialist health trainers will work with members of the public to boost their wellbeing.
Individuals will be given six sessions with their health trainer, ranging from face-to-face sessions, a phone call or to accompany them to a new appointment or activity.
The scheme is being funded by NHS Lincolnshire. Ria Harkess, health trainer manager at NHS Lincolnshire, said: “This programme helps people to make the first steps toward being healthier and living longer. Offering one to one support, suggesting small steps and manageable goals and teaching coping skills is an effective way to work with people to make positive lifestyle changes.”
