Hickman to headline REPs convention
World-class swimmer James Hickman will be the keynote speaker at the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) convention in December.
The five-times 200m butterfly champion will share the secrets of his success and other motivational tips with delegates at the Congress Centre, in Great Russell Street, in London’s West End on Thursday 8 December 2005.
Other highlights of the day, which is being run in conjunction with SkillsActive, include a wide range of technical workshops, training provider exhibition, member focus sessions, the REPs Exceptional Achievement Awards, the release of the Working in Fitness 2005 survey with an interactive feedback session, and the annual SkillsActive Patrons Dinner.
In addition, discussion forums will be held on apprenticeships, the implications of the UK Coaching Certificate and its subsequent demands for the new working of governing bodies, and the Sector Skills Agreement – which will provide the framework for how SkillsActive will work in the future.
Members of the Professional Development Board, made up of senior representatives from the fitness, sport and recreation industries will also meet.
Entry is open to all REPs members, who can earn four CPD points by attending the days’ workshops. Ticket application forms plus full programme will be sent out in the next few months to all members of the REPs.
