Hilton aims to plug a hole in its London market
Hilton International announced that it had signed a deal with London Bridge Holdings and More London Development, which will increase the number of its hotels in the capital to 15.
Located at More London Place, opposite the Tower of London, the new property will be aimed primarily at the corporate market.
The Hilton Tower Bridge will have 245 rooms and a conference room that can host up to 400 guests.
Other facilities include a fully equipped business centre, a lobby café and a themed restaurant and bar.
Wolfgang M. Neumann, area president, said: “This new property will plug a hole in our current coverage of the London market, particularly given the easy access to the City.”
A planning application has been submitted and the group is hoping to begin construction later this year, with completion expected by the end of 2006.
The tower bridge site is just one of the seven new hotels for the Hilton UK & Ireland estate, including two further hotels in London.
Hilton International operates 400 hotels around the world, excluding North America, and employs more than 44,000 staff in over 70 countries.
