The location of the 2004 Olympics could be in doubt following an IOC inspection visit to the host city, Athens. IOC vice-president, Jacques Rogge, returned to the city this week after being unimpressed to find delays in building and a rise in costs on his last visit in February. Last year the IOC threatened to withdraw the Olympiad, and Rogge is still reported to be concerned about the Greek lack of urgency. Speculation suggests that Sydney, with its facilities still in place, could pick up the baton.
