IOW Economic Partnership appoints Mike King
Mike King is to become the new managing director of the Isle of Wight Economic Partnership.
The Economic Partnership works closely with agencies from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, in order to attract investment to the island and improve the quality of life for local people through a variety of avenues including job creation, increasing facilities and enhancing existing business assets.
Before joining the Economic Partnership, Mike was responsible for a number of major projects which bought new investment to the island, including the establishment of the Enterprise Hub and the initiation of the Cowes Waterfront project.
King said: “This is a fantastic opportunity, I am keen to see the island contributing to, and most importantly sharing in, the success of the south east region as a whole.
“The Isle of Wight Partnership has many strengths – one of my first jobs will be to review our activities and to restructure the company to best deliver our objectives.”
One of the key projects the partnership will be focusing on will be a ‘perception changing’ programme for the island.
The organisation will also be seeking to ensure that the island receives the greatest benefit possible from new investments.
