ISG secures £3.5m Enfield leisure contract
ISG has started work on a "challenging" project to redevelop London's Southgate Leisure Centre after it was awarded the £3.5m contract for the scheme from Enfield Council.
The work will first involve the construction of a temporary modular structure at the venue to re-house the leisure facilities ahead of the demolition of most of the existing building.
Work will then commence on the creation of a new centre to include the existing pool, which will remain open throughout the project and will also receive a refurbishment.
The temporary structure is to be completed and open within six weeks and will house a gym; a spinning studio; a dance studio; and changing rooms for the duration of the project.
Southgate Leisure Centre is one of two Enfield Council schemes currently being worked on by ISG, with the other comprising a project at Firs Farm Primary School, Palmers Green.
ISG managing director-South East Bernard Clarke said: "Both of these projects involve managing complex construction programmes while maintaining continuity of services within the existing buildings."
