ISPAL’s parks commitment
As part of its vital commitment to the agenda for parks in Britain today, ISPAL has brought together three parks industry experts to advise on the launch of its “Parks, Places and People” agenda.
Over the next six months, Steve Smith, Ken McAnespie and Nick Reeves will be developing an ISPAL campaign programme that will show how parks professionals are contributing to a better quality of life for all; and the resources required to meet future challenges.
The programme will include key topics such as – Funding for Parks, Skills Gaps, Health and Climate Change.
ISPAL sees an overwhelming need to develop current thinking in the industry, and specific campaigns, on these key issues.
For parks professionals, resources are a daily issue; skills development is of course one of ISPAL’s major tasks; and our industry is making already a key contribution to the nation’s health concerns.
Climate change affects us all, and our parks must be part of the active planning.
Putting into practice the concerns for climate change and global warming, this ISPAL Advisory Group is planning to keep the number of physical meetings and the amount of travel to a minimum, by making good use of conference calling and other electronic communications.
ISPAL chairman, Peter Mann, said: “ISPAL is delighted that acknowledged parks experts such as these three leading practitioners are helping us promote the vital role of the parks professionals in meeting the priorities of climate change and the healthy living agenda.”
