Industry school receives top marks
Thames Valley University's school of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure has finished its academic year on a high by receiving top marks from the government's watchdog. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) awarded the school full marks for the course design, quality of teaching, student support and management of quality. HCIMA president and Thames Valley University governor, Alistair Telfer, says the ratings reflect the school's hard work: The QAA result is a tribute not only to the hard work of all the staff in the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure, but also the approach it's adopting. It is vitally important for the hospitality industry that education specifically geared to the realities of today's industry should be properly recognised and rewarded. The QAA accolade follows good ratings from the Training Standards Council and the Further Education Funding Council earlier this year.
