Insight HLC to launch charity convention

The Insight Healthy Living Centre (HLC) at the south London YMCA in Stockwell is set to hold a charitable fitness convention on 19 February 2006 in order to raise more money for the centre.

It will be the first of many new fundraising initiatives designed to help sustain the HLC in the future.

It is currently funded by a five-year grant from the Big Lottery Fund which is due to expire in March 2007.

Set up in 2002, the HLC has a volunteers programme which helps residents and users to get back to work, a partnership with four pharmacies to promote healthy living and a GP referral scheme with 14 local surgeries.

The fundraising day will feature a range of workshops and lectures.
