Jurys Doyle confirms approach
Irish hotel group Jurys Doyle has confirmed it has received an approach for the company from an undisclosed bidder.
In an announcement, the company said: “The unsolicited approach is preliminary in nature and there can be no certainty that an offer will ultimately be forthcoming.”
In the year to 31 December, Jurys Doyle reported pre-tax profits of £45.3m, up 7 per cent on 2003.
It has since reported that trading in the first quarter of 2005 has been “generally satisfactory” with profits in the UK and US ahead of last year, but that the performance of its Dublin hotels has so far been “very disappointing”.
The group is set to open three new properties in the remainder of the year – in Southampton, Nottingham and Dublin. Details: www.jurysdoyle.com
