Kidsports calls in administrators
Watford-based Kidsports has gone into liquidation and closed its 20,000sq ft children’s sport centre in the town.
The centre had been trading for more than three years and offered physical and soft play activities to children up to 12-years-old.
The company had recently expanded its services to include school sports, providing sports coaching at breakfast and after school clubs and sports camps.
Chris Lane, owner of Kidsports, said: “After so much hard work the closure of the Watford site is a great disappointment.
“The main challenge to the business was the high rents and low margins.”
The liquidation does not affect the holiday camps and schools business that the company has already agreed to operate.
According to Lane, the liquidation now allows him to seek other, more suitable locations than for the club concept.
