LA Fitness launches exercise regime for long-haul air travellers
Responding to current scares about so called 'economy class syndrome', L.A Fitness has devised a flying fit fact sheet intended to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis in passengers flying long distances. The sheet covers exercises to do before, after and during the flight, as well as what to do the night before a flight, packing tips, what to wear and what to drink and eat during the flight . Chief executive, Fred Turok, says although the airlines are taking a responsible attitude, by providing information about health risks, people want to know more about what specific exercises they should do while flying. The British Travel Health Association has said that there are about 2,600 reported cases of flying-related pulmonary embolism - which is not always fatal - each year. The Flying Fit fact sheet is available from L.A Fitness clubs.
