Le Méridien begins work on damaged Thai properties
Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts has announced that both its Phuket Beach Resort and Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort in Thailand have closed to begin substantial repairs following the Tsunami which struck on Boxing Day.
The company anticipates re-opening the Phuket resort no sooner than April and the Khao Lak property no earlier than November.
Current reservations for the two hotels have been switched to the Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club, which was not damaged, or to other hotels.
The company also operates several other hotels in the region which were not affected, including the Le Royal Méridien Baan Taling Ngam on Koh Samui in Thailand; the Le Méridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort in Bali; the Le Méridien Fisherman’s Cove in the Seychelles and Le Méridien Ile Maurice in Mauritius. Its properties in India are also fully operational. Details: www.lemeridien.com
