London launch of free training
The FIA and YMCA Fitness Industry Training (YMCAfit) have joined forces to offer free training to communities which are under-represented in the industry.
The first project will train 200 unemployed black and minority ethnic women to Level 2 Gym/Studio Instructor qualifications.
Of these, 150 will then be placed into employment.
A second project will offer employers the opportunity to upskill employees (those who are primarily of black and ethnic minorities or disabled) from Level 2 to Level 3, for free. In addition, successful candidates will be offered a full adult apprenticeship at Level 3 in the context of Exercise and Fitness Instruction.
Funded by the European Social Fund, recruits should be London-based. For more information, contact Makeda on +44 (0)20 7343 1886
