Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club to open spa and health club

A championship golf club in Wales will provide the backdrop to a £2.5m health club and spa set to open later this spring.

Part of the Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club Llanelli, the Monks Health Club and Spa will offer a 35-station gym and a spa with an aromatherapy room, sauna, steamroom and spa pool with monsoon showers. The clubhouse’s main conference room, The Nicklaus Suite, will double as an exercise studio, a timetable of classes for which is currently being drawn up.

Monks – named after a 6th century monastery reputed to have once stood on the site – will also offer personal training and sports therapy as well as a range of treatments from body wraps to deep tissue massage in its six treatment rooms.

The golf course lies adjacent to the Pentre Nicklaus Village, a housing development providing 173 new homes for the area.
