Make A Change 4 Life with free events
Did you know that if we carry on as we are, 9 out of 10 of today's children risk growing up with dangerous levels of fat in their bodies?
This can lead to serious illnesses like heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes in later life.
All parents want their children to grow up to be happy, healthy adults, but for some families it can be hard to know how to achieve this.
On Sunday 26th June 2011, Seaford families are invited to make a Change 4 Life at the Downs Leisure with access to loads of free or half price activities for the morning.
Amongst the free activities there will be access to:
* Trampolining
* Gymnastics * Football skills
* Mobile assault course * Half price sessions in PlayZone
In addition, there will be a live cookery demonstration showing how you can cook cheap, easy and healthy meals; free healthy food tasters and samples and information about healthy eating, health awareness and how to lead a full and active lifestyle.
Supported by the Seaford and area schools, the Seaford Children's Centre, Brighton & Hove Albion in the Community, Wave Leisure the day offers an ideal opportunity to try out sessions that you may not have had the time to access.
A variety of physical activity sessions offer a spontaneous and highly enjoyable way for children to be healthy. They burn energy, strengthen their bones and reduce the risk of developing obesity. But there are plenty of other benefits too.
Team and individual activities build children's confidence by encouraging them to interact with others, it helps develop their imagination - and it makes them feel good too!
