Marriott’s holistic Spa at Coronado Island focuses on ‘art of living well’
Marriott has opened a new 5,500sq ft (511sq m) spa and wellness Center at its Coronado Island Resort & Spa in san diego, California. The resort is putting a focus on the “art of living well” through a refreshed focus on nutrition, exercise, movement, stress reduction and reflection, and has also opened a new two-storey 6,000sq ft (557sq m) fitness centre.
The spa has a holistic approach to wellness, focusing just as much on healing therapies as on indulgent services. It includes 3,500sq feet (325sq meters) of indoor space and 2,000sq feet (186sq meters) of outdoor space, as well as ten treatment rooms, a co-ed relaxation room, outdoor spa garden, steam rooms and a manicure and pedicure salon.
Treatments will use Elemis skincare, and Spa Rituals utilise Asian healing therapies for multi-services experiences.
“We are thrilled to introduce The Spa at Coronado Island and Wellness Center and for our guests to truly embrace the art of living well,” said spa director Veljko Savic. “From conscious cuisine, luxury spa services, positive outdoor experiences, personalised nutrition and fitness consultations, The Spa at Coronado Island emphasises the healing benefits of the sea and provides a true sense of relaxed luxury, with a beautiful setting on the quiet side of Coronado Island.”
The Wellness Center will also offer daily and weekly programme classes in group or one-on-one sessions. The Fitness Center includes fresh-air programming, fitness classes, a movement studio, lap pool, three tennis courts, a basketball court and four pickleball courts.
The resort has also added a new culinary programme focused on conscious cuisine, including a spa menu with offerings designed to impact both physical and mental energy, including pitaya bowls and cold-pressed juices. Guests can also create their own Wellness Bento Boxes, which can be customised with different sides, proteins, sandwiches and entrees.
