Military Fitness Manchester fined for flyposting
A Manchester-based fitness company has been prosecuted for placing stickers advertising the business on street furniture throughout the city.
The company, Military Fitness Manchester, was fined a total of £5,297 to cover clean up costs after more than 200 stickers had to be removed.
Paul Murphy, executive member for direct services at Manchester City Council, said: “Flyposting is environmental vandalism and it will not be tolerated.
“This company committed a blatant act of vandalism in the city centre by going out and placing stickers advertising their company on to street furniture.
“This case should serve as a warning to other companies that we have a zero tolerance approach to environmental crime and we will seek to prosecute all cases.” Details: www.manchester.gov.uk
