European sports nutrition company Atlantic Multipower has become an official partner of the Reno Windsurf World Cup as part of a new sponsorship deal.

The event, which took place in Westerland, Germany earlier in October, featured nutrition training and advice by Multipower, as well as onsite branding and hospitality by the supplier.

The partnership marks the first time the event has secured a sponsor in the sports nutrition sector, and allows Multipower Sportsfood the opportunity to increase brand awareness within a sport that appeals to a young demographic.

The Reno Windsurf World Cup is one of the events on the PWA (Professional Windsurfer’s Association) World Tour, and is the only event which has windsurfing elites competing across three disciplines – Waveriding, Freestyle and Slalom.

More than 230,000 spectators watched 120 international windsurfing athletes compete for the total prize fund of €120,000 at the final PWA event of 2012.
