If people are looking to become active but are not ready to measure in any greater depth, MZ-Motion is an ideal transition.
– Dave Wright, CEO and creator of Myzone

Each year ACSM’s Health and Fitness journal releases the top fitness trends for the following year, and there was no surprise when wearables trumped the top spot for 2019. However, for decades now people have relied on the sole guidance that achieving the set goal of 10,000 steps a day is necessary in order to hit the recommended amount of daily exercise, coined by the World Health Organization.

While it is a fantastic tool to engage people, who are daunted by fitness centres or need an achievable goal to aim for, recent headlines have declared there is no health guidance that exists to back the trend.

Wearables have since proven there are greater avenues to help people focus on activity and movement with more accurate and reliable data that goes beyond simply counting steps. Myzone recently launched MZ-Motion, a tool that instead of counting steps, calculates incidental movement delivered for a continuous period, providing a Motion.

“Myzone is all about rewarding effort in a way that levels the playing field amongst all users, giving everyone an equal opportunity to show how hard they are trying,” said CEO and creator of Myzone, Dave Wright. “If people are looking to become active but are not ready to measure in any greater depth, MZ-Motion is an ideal transition; encouraging users to continuously improve their activity level, providing accurate data, and offering support from the very start of their fitness journey.”

At the end of the day, the goal for most fitness companies is to simply find a way to mobilise deconditioned people. However, what separates Myzone from the rest of the activity trackers is that the technology humanises exercise, removing the inadequacies associated. By adding the feelgood experience into exercise, Myzone eliminates the stereotypes that only the fit can get fitter, ultimately serving as a catalyst to overall improved health.
