Namco acquires Tamworth leisure complex
European leisure developer and entertainment operator, Namco Operations, has acquired a 56,000sq ft development in Tamworth, Staffordshire from Leamore Leisure. The 10-year-old development includes a 26-lane Strykers bowling alley, a 900-capacity nightclub, Xenon, and a health and fitness club operated by Arena. Namco now intends to develop and refurbish the leisure facility, beginning with a major overhaul of Xenon. European Operations Director, Philip Millward, says the acquisition is part of Namco's leisure strategy: Namco is delighted to have completed the acquisition which is a significant step towards our objective to establish a major European leisure business. Existing Namco operations include the Namco Station entertainment centres at Manchester's Trafford Centre, County Hall in London, and Majadahonda in Madrid.
