New life for Old Orleans
Regent Inns has announced that it will be investing £4m on refurbishments across its Old Orleans estate over the next financial year.
The company has just finished a refit of its Thurrock Old Orleans outlet – built in the image of a Louisiana paddle steamer and set on the water next to Lakeside Shopping Centre – which has been completely redecorated and refurnished and has had its capacity raised from 90 to 230 covers. It is set to reopen on 21 June.
The Thurrock revamp is the first of several to take place over the next few months and Regent Inns will also be looking at new sites in order to expand the Old Orleans portfolio.
Russell Scott, managing director of operations at Regent Inns, said: “The Thurrock restaurant is a vision of the future for Old Orleans. The significant investment that Regent Inns is making in the business marks a new era for the brand.”
Regent acquired Old Orleans from Punch Taverns in August last year for £26m.
