Novotel Sheffield launches ‘TV Dining’ concept
French hotel chain, Accor, has launched a new dining concept at its recently refurbished ‘New Generation’ Novotel Sheffield.
Aimed at lone business and leisure travellers, guests can now watch their own personal TV screen while dining at the hotel’s new Elements Restaurant or drinking in the lobby.
Similar to aeroplane TV sets, the complimentary service offers terrestrial TV via headphones.
The scheme will also be launched at Novotel London Heathrow in a couple of months.
Roger Smith, director of marketing and distribution for Accor Hotels UK, said: “We know that guests travelling alone frequently avoid restaurants because they stand out from other diners. With TV Dining they have an experience which is designed for them with in-built entertainment that doesn’t intrude on other guests. We’re very pleased with the initial feedback, which has been very positive.”
Novotel Sheffield has been refurbished according to Accor’s ‘New Generation’ modern-design concept. Facilities include 144 bedrooms and four suites, seven meeting rooms, a swimming pool and a gym.
Accor operates more than 4,000 hotels in 92 countries. Details: www.accor.com or www.novotel.com
