Olympic silver medallist opens new Harpers Gym
A new Harpers Gym has opened at the National Water Sport Centre at Holme Pierrepoint in Nottingham, boasting £120,000 worth of new Technogym equipment.
Harpers is the gym brand belonging to management company Leisure Connection, which operates the National Water Sport Centre.
Simon Ricketts, Leisure Connection's contract manager, said: "The investment into our Harpers Gym is fantastic news for the community as well as the current users of the centre.
“Leisure Connection, in partnership with Sport England is committed to supporting more people who want to become more active more often. We hope that our new gym will encourage those who aren't exercising to come along and see what all the fuss is about and to make exercise and physical activity a part of their everyday lifestyle."
The gym is the first Harpers site to be equipped with the latest Technogym range after Leisure Connection appointed the company as its preferred supplier for the entire Harpers portfolio.
The new facility was officially opened on 19 February by representatives from Sport England and Nottinghamshire County Council as well as Olympic canoeing silver medallist, Campbell Walsh.
