Pendle Leisure Trust boosts health services
Pendle Leisure Trust has appointed two sports science graduates to improve its health and fitness services.
The new recruits will work in the trust’s Activo gyms and link up with its Healthy Communities Team, which already delivers community exercise, GP referral and cardiac rehabilitation programmes.
Phil Storey, chief executive, said: “The long term aim of Pendle Leisure Trust is to provide an integrated approach to delivery of health improvement across all the communities and facilities in Pendle.
“We’re delighted that the recent addition of two sport science graduates will both complement the great work our Healthy Communities team are already undertaking and provide additional help in allowing us to achieve our goal.”
As part of the new development, a broad programme of health screening will take place both within Pendle Leisure Trust's facilities and within community settings which will allow the trust to provide accurate information on the health improvement achieved as a result of its programmes.
