The nation now prefers organic fruit and veg instead of bacon sarnies according to the government's Retail Price Index (RPI). Britain's growing obsession with healthy living has put herbal tea bags, energy drinks and health club membership in the basket of 650 most purchased items while streaky bacon, delivered milk and nests of tables are now off the list. The healthy trend began last year when luncheon meat and custard powder were dropped in favour of broccoli and packed salads.
