Revamp for Huntingdon Leisure Centre
Huntingdonshire District Council is to fund a £1.5m redevelopment of Huntingdon Leisure Centre.
The centre, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, will undergo a two-phase revamp which will see a new mezzanine floor created across two existing sports courts. The new space wil house a Impressions fitness suite, a soft play area and an interactive fitness space.
The project is being managed by Alliance Leisure, which appointed Hampshire-based Createability to design the new-look centre.
The first phase includes the introduction of a 240sq m (2,300sq ft), 56-station fitness suite on the ground floor, a 135sq m (1,400sq ft) soft play facility able to accommodate for 83 children, and a ZigZag interactive fitness studio.
The second phase, expected to be completed next February, will include a spa facility with a herb sauna, a relaxation area and a number of treatment rooms.
